Impeachment Isn’t Merited By Ben Shapiro
The Column starts out covering Trump’s inadvisable actions and his reckless nature. Then it transitions into a discussion on the recent impeachment attempts on Trump. Shapiro goes on to claim that Democrats are attempting to impeach Trump without supporting evidence, and as a result, are backfilling an impeachment inquiry. He ends the column stating that impeachment efforts are beginning to stall out.
When Trump speaks out he frequently makes unadvised statements that come out as unintelligent or unwise. Shapiro thinks Trump’s statements are divided into bloviation and manipulation and that people should learn to differentiate between the two so that fewer misunderstandings break out. I do think that Trump has filler statements in his speeches that distract the viewers from the issue at hand; so I agree with Shapiro’s statement regarding the differentiation of bloviation and manipulation. However, I don’t think that strategy is applicable to all of what Trump says since he is a loose cannon.
Shapiro covers the recent topic of democrats attempting to impeach Trump. He believes that Democrats are attempting to impeach him without proper allegations of criminal conduct. I don’t have much knowledge regarding all of the statements Trump has made, but I have heard of how he can be offensive and sometimes belligerent. However, I agree with what Shapiro says regarding Trump’s lack of criminal conduct. That does not mean I believe Trump to of not committed any, but that he just hasn’t committed anything of significance.
